Vasulab is a series of Angio surgical training suites for sheep and pigs, located in the Howard Florey Institute at the University of Melbourne. The facility is divided into two components – the operational animal facility and administrative support. The animal facility includes 4 Angio Suites for surgical trials, pre-operative and post-operative animal holding rooms, post-mortem and other support functions including stores. The Angio Suites are supported by Siemens technology. A high level of audio-visual interface is provided and is critical in the design. Strong visual connection is provided at all points – including a view from the Boardroom into an Angio Suite.
